FURTHER IMPROVING ADVANCED PRECOMBUSTION CHAMBERS

Due to chaotic flow fields, current precombustion chambers require rich or stoichiometric mixtures to achieve stable combustion conditions. Prometheus’ patented technology relies on toroidal compound vortex flow patterns to enable lean and efficient combustion of lean mixtures inside the precombustion chamber.  In this way, a much improved engine efficiency/emissions trade-off is achieved.

Harnessing the Effect of Flow Patterns on Prechamber Combustion Efficiency

Prometheus utilizes toroidal compound vortex flow patterns to entrain and combust lean mixtures with nearly zero heat loss.  This allows to sustain stable and efficient combustion of lean mixtures within the precombustion chamber and thus, realize improved engine efficiency/emission trade-off.

The enhanced engine efficiency (BTE) results from reduced knock propensity, improved combustion rate/stability and prechamber/electrode thermal management.

A Novel Design

The Prometheus prechamber plug (PCP) relies on patented technology to achieve a unique flow dynamic inside the prechamber.  This significantly reduces knock, misfire and preignition while improving the rate and uniformity of the flame propagation of ultra-lean mixtures with all types of gaseous and liquid fuels.
